research project conducted by the poznacze.org foundation
By supporting poszukiwacze.org foundation led by Igor Murawski, our team participates in archaeological research conducted by this organization in southern Europe on one of the most important battlefields of antiquity. We are looking for military items and equipment from Roman times. Using the simplest tools – shovels, pickaxes, hoes and the most modern detectors, we explore fields, meadows, hills, extracting interesting artifacts from the ground – coins, slingshots, pieces of jewelry from ancient times, lead bullets from a later period and… a ton of garbage…
Archaeological research on this battlefield is only carried out in early spring and late autumn due to the agronomic cycle of the area. The days are rather short, they greet us with fog and sometimes rain, only to be warmed by the sun’s rays at noon. The search is exhausting, but brings a lot of satisfaction.
