ANCIENT BATTLE FIELD

ARCHAEOLOGICAL RESEARCH IN THE SOUTH OF EUROPE

In the 2023-2024 season, we provided financial support and had the pleasure of participating in archaeological research organized by a group of history enthusiasts at one of the most significant battlefields in history. This fascinating research, aimed at discovering the exact location of the clash and the camps of the main protagonists, takes place in the picturesque setting of Southern Europe and is conducted under the patronage of the Ministry of Culture of that country. For now, we have not received permission to disclose the details of this research project.

Innovative Technologies in the Service of History

Our research is not only an adventure but also an example of the application of the latest technologies. By using satellite imagery analysis, LiDAR scanning, and specialized metal detectors coordinated with geolocation systems, we gain new insights into ancient events. With these tools, we can precisely locate findings that shed light on the history of antiquity.

On the battlefield, we had the pleasure of working with detectors.

What Did We Discover?

During our searches on the battlefield, we came across many interesting artifacts, including lead sling bullets, other military items, coins, and everyday objects that testify to the lives of soldiers during that time. Each of these discoveries brings us closer to understanding the fascinating stories from centuries past and helps revive the memory of events that shaped our civilization.

Variable Work Conditions

Archaeological work using detectors is conducted here only in early spring and late autumn due to the agronomic cycle of the region. Although the days are short and mornings sometimes bring fog and rain, midday greets us with sunshine that energizes us for further work. The challenges are immense, but the satisfaction of uncovering the past is incomparable.

What Does the Future Hold?

We are hopeful that our support and research will be equally fruitful in the coming seasons, and we will be happy to keep you updated on all new findings and progress in our work. Thank you for being with us on this extraordinary journey through time!
